The judgment
The final judgment on consent and permanent injunction is Document 13 in Artisans of Leisure, Inc. v. Artisans of Safari, LLC, No. 1:26-cv-07323 (CM) (S.D.N.Y.), signed by Judge Colleen McMahon and filed October 19, 2026. The settlement agreement is attached as Exhibit A. The docket entry directs the Clerk to enter judgment and close the case, and notes that court approval of the settlement is not required because it is a private settlement. The case was filed August 27, 2026 by Artisans of Leisure, Inc. against Artisans of Safari, LLC and an individual, alleging that the ARTISANS OF SAFARI name and mark infringed the ARTISANS OF LEISURE mark and Registration No. 3012111. The settlement describes the claims as Lanham Act infringement and false designation of origin and New York dilution and unfair competition, and says it is made without any admission of liability.
What it orders
The defendants acknowledge the validity of Registration No. 3012111 and agree not to challenge it. From the injunction effective date of December 9, 2026, they are permanently enjoined from using, registering, or seeking to register ARTISANS OF SAFARI or any name or mark containing Artisan or Artisans, or misspellings, phonetic equivalents, or translations, for travel, tour, or related services. The prohibition reaches business and legal entity names, seller of travel registrations, advertising, websites and social media listings, keywords and search ads, hashtags, metadata, and "formerly known as" references.
The defendants must ask industry listings, including travelandleisure.com and cntraveler.com, to update to their new name, with follow up requests at thirty and sixty days. They may keep the old domain only to redirect and the old email addresses only to migrate messages for forty five more days. They must transfer or close domains and handles containing Artisan or Artisans as the plaintiff elects, change the LLC's name with the California Secretary of State, and provide sworn compliance declarations. Under the settlement, they also agreed to abandon a pending application for THE SAFARI ARTISANS.
Money and enforcement
The plaintiff's monetary claims are dismissed without prejudice and may be reinstated under the settlement if there is an uncured material breach or a materially false certification. Each party bears its own costs. The court retains jurisdiction to enforce the settlement and judgment, and the parties waived appeal.
